Marmellata Balsamic Jams and Sauces was born in the kitchen of The Olive Leaf. When owner Linda Armes lost her supplier of balsamic jams from Italy, she began playing around with versions of her own, using the Balsamic Vinegar her store carried. This Balsamic, from Modena, Italy, was thick and rich and naturally sweet and added a depth of flavor to anything she made. A line of jams and sauces for her own store were born. They were so popular that Linda decided to ramp up production and make them available to everyone.

Linda began her food business journey after winning an Emeril Live contest and being featured on Food Network. She decided to open Bloomington Chocolate Company in 2011, then purchased The Olive Leaf in 2014, bringing both businesses together into one retail space. She added Olive Leaf Wholesale a couple years later. It was a natural progression to create Marmellata - the perfect marriage of fresh flavors with old world quality.
